among travelers

Pounding the pavement; Leg after shifting leg;
A morman cyborg; eyeglasses of jealousy.

Dead birds and cats lay on the side of the road,
And the sweet smell of honeysuckle, drifts in the air.

Resolve never to discuss the weather regardless of rain
That soaks all the way through to the most private inner layers

Foreigners and racial slurs go together; no one is indigenous anymore
And there’s constant sighing.

The fierce and imperceptible coyote, is drifting around the park;
And hiding among the surplus.

Mellon fungus, dryad saddle, grows wide and round from the tree,
And the morels come up from the ground; their delicious triangle brains hardening.

Globally this week, there was a tsunami, a cyclone, an earthquake and unknown melts.
Personally this week, there was a tsunami, a cyclone, an earthquake and untold melts.

The paper has yellowed and the stain is from 1934,
The collar on the shirt is forever dirtied.

I’ve heard they steal bikes there, at the bottom of the world,
July and August are their coldest winter months.
