my shining hope

I'm jobless and up before 5:30
the older I get
the faster time moves
and
it's making me worry

my new blender-smoothie
frozen-iced drink machine
has got me feeling
better already

unlike my life
(that's a mess)
it's ergonomic design
is easy to clean

Writing resumes, applying
to places I'll probably never be

but a few simple twists
and a quick wipe down
and the glass pitcher
(that once held fruit and ice)
has a sparkling gleam!
